Shayla, you nailed it. This is Personal Selling at its very best. And they're learning entrepreneurial skills in the process.

Reminds me of selling lemonade on a hot summer day? Did anyone do that kind of thing?

  2. When I was young, I didn't sell lemonade on a hot summer day, but there were young girls in my neighbiorhood who did that from time to time from June until August. For me, my youth personnel selling angle was in winter shoveling people's snowcovered driveways. When I was 10 or 12 years old, I used to go door to door with a metal shovel and ring door bells. Fairly often, I would get hired by housewives and senior citizens. Shoveling driveways was hard but noble work. I wasn't just a seasonal job to earn to few extra bucks. It was also a necessary service to people who were not up to clearing their driveways on their own.
